The Adolescent Brain and the Law
Grades 9-12
The Adolescent Brain and the Law is a 10-week where students explore how the teenage brain develops and how that science shapes the way the justice system treats young people. Lessons cover decision-making, impulse control, peer influence, and the stress response, as well as the science of teen sleep and the brain science of bias. Through discussion, case studies, and hands-on activities, students build critical thinking and self-awareness, and learn to advocate for themselves and their communities.
Grief, Loss, and the Brain
Grades 9-12
Grief, Loss, and the Brain is a four-session workshop where students explore how the brain and body respond to loss, from the death of a loved one to changes in relationships, home, or identity. Through guided reflection, creative activities, and age-appropriate brain science, students learn how grief affects memory, emotions, and the stress response, and they practice healthy coping and regulation strategies. The program helps students make sense of their experiences, build resilience, and find connection and support.
Love and the Brain
Grades 9-12
Love and the Brain is a 90-minute workshop where students explore the neuroscience of connection, including how attachment, oxytocin, and dopamine shape the way we bond, trust, and build relationships. Through interactive lessons and reflection, students learn the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships, how emotions influence decision-making, and how early experiences shape the way we connect with others. The program strengthens emotional literacy, self-respect, and the skills young people need for safe, healthy relationships.
